The Game Awards 2018 promised surprise world premieres, and it lived up to that promise right off the bat. At The Game Awards, Marvel Entertainment revealedMarvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order, a Nintendo Switch exclusive and the first original entry in theMarvel Ultimate Allianceseries in a decade.
InMarvel Ultimate Alliance 3, players can take control of a variety ofMarvelheroes, from the Guardians of the Galaxy to the X-Men to the Avengers, as they all come together to stop the Mad Titan Thanos and his deadly group known as the Black Order from getting their hands on the Infinity Stones.

As can be seen in the trailer,Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Orderwill feature similar gameplay to its predecessors; it’s aDiablo-style action-RPG with a focus on co-op. And also like pastUltimate Alliancegames, players will be able to play co-op online as well as locally, with up to four players on a single console.
WhileMarvel Ultimate Alliance 3looks to be a largely familiar experience to fans of theUltimate Alliancefranchise, that doesn’t mean it doesn’t have any new ideas. Along with the traditional camera perspective, it also features a new “heroic view” that offers a closer look at the action. This perspective will be available forUltimate Alliance 3players who are playing through the game together using multiple Switch consoles.

However, from the trailer released at The Game Awards, it’s already clear that the game will boast a rather expansive roster. Along with the expected Marvel mainstays, some lesser-known characters can be spotted in the lineup as well, including the Inhumans' Lockjaw. Next year, fans should be able to look forward to more details onUltimate Alliance 3, which will likely include even more new character reveals.
