Since its initial announcement a couple of years ago, we’ve heard next to nothing aboutMarvel’s Avengersfrom Square Enix. However, that’s looking to change very soon, as we know thatMarvel’s Avengerswill be at E3 2019. And now we know what fans can expect to see from the game at the show, thanks to an updated E3 Coliseum description for it as spotted by Twitter user Evan Filarca.
Here is the full E3 Coliseum description forMarvel’s Avengers:
“Embrace your powers and join key members of the development team at Crystal Dynamics and the creative team at Marvel Games as they talk exclusively about the upcoming Marvel’s Avengers. This is the defining Avengers gaming experience: an epic action-adventure that combines cinematic storytelling with continuous single-player and co-operative gameplay. Moderated by Andrea Rene, assemble in teams up to four players, master extraordinary abilities, customize your heroes to fit your playstyle, and combine powers to defend an ever-expanding world under constant threat.”
What’s interesting about this description is that it seems to suggestMarvel’s Avengerswill be a live-service type of game, with a persistent online world. It also reveals that the game will support both those who choose to play solo, and those who want to team up with friends online.Marvel’s Avengerswill apparently support 4-player co-op with the ability to combine powers, and it will also allow players to customize their heroes.
Based on the description, it sounds likeMarvel’s Avengerswill be a game not unlikeDestinyorThe Division, but with superheroes. Whether or not theMarvel’s Avengersgameplay has cover-shooting and stealth sectionslike previous leaks have suggested remains to be seen, however.
With theMarvel’s AvengersE3 Coliseum panel apparently taking a deep dive into the gameplay, it seems like a safe bet that fans will get a substantial look at the game come E3 2019 in June. Based on the leaks so far, this should include gameplay footage as well as cinematics, but fans will just have to tune in to theSquare Enix E3 2019 press conferenceon June 10 at 6:00pm PT to find out more.
