Earlier this year, cult game developer Goichi “Suda51” Suda hinted at the possibility ofGrasshopper Manufacture’s classic titles coming to the Switch. Not much has been said since, but new evidence has emerged suggesting thatKiller7, one of those classic titles, will be coming to the console in the form of a remaster.
One of the most cult-classic of Grasshopper’s hits,Killer7provided players with an eclectic mix of assassins, first-person shooting, and on-rails adventure when it first came out for the Nintendo GameCube and PS2 in 2005. Suda hasexpressed interest in making a Switch port ofKiller7in the past, but noted back in May that the chances of it happening weren’t as likely as with other games because different companies hold rights to many of the studio’s older titles.

However, that issue has apparently been dealt with in this case. This week, YouTuber Doctre81, who’s known for leaking info on unannounced games (and being one of the first touncover evidence ofThe Witcher 3’s Switch port), discovered a LinkedIn page for a producer at Engine Software that is working on “an unannounced title in collaboration with a prolific Japanese game designer.” More specifically, the page includes a listing for a “Killer7Remaster” for the Switch.
It actually wouldn’t be the first time Engine Software has worked onKiller7, as it partnered with Grasshopper to bring the game to PC in 2018. Until someone says otherwise, it’s safe to assume that it’s doing so again, and thatKiller7may return soon, potentially alongside another Grasshopper classic that wasrecently rumored to be heading to the Switch,No More Heroes.
Killer7is available for PC, and rumored to be in development for Switch.
