The game apparently attached to the job listings is said to just be one of several entries in the series arriving soon. Some hinted at, like anewPokemon Snapgame, have been long known to be on the horizon. Another potential 2021 arrival is the newDetective Pikachugame for the Nintendo Switch. That game was announced in May of 2019 but doesn’t have an official release date yet. However, the accounts contended that even allowing for the two aforementionedPokemontitles potentially releasing next year, there is still a big one slated for launch in November and it is expected to be a “main series” addition.
While somebelieve the newestPokemongamecould be a brand new main addition, others speculate the only way it could get finished by November is if it were a remake or graphical remaster of an existing property. There’s also talk that thePokemondeveloper routinely post these jobs only when it’s relatively close to an official launch date. The last time this kind of warm-up happened, it foreshadowed a quick unveiling of the 2018 surprise gamesPokemon Let’s Go Pikachu & Eevee.
Even if past behavior tends to hint at an impending announcement, a job listing does notguarantee a newPokemongameis anywhere near ready for release in 2021. It’s also a possibility that news could come as soon as Thursday during thePokemonGOGame Awards event.
