After all, the studio is currently busy trying to get the sequel to its successfulThe Batmangoing.
WithThe Batmandelayed to 2027, the DCU’s debut film for the Dark Knight,The Brave and the Bold, could only be released in 2028 at the earliest. That is due to how DC would likely never release two live-action Batman movies in the same year, even if they are from different universes. As it stands, we are still years away from seeingThe Brave and the Bold, so it would not make sense to cast the hero this far in advance. That said, I’m hopeful that Gunn will find a way to bring in the DCU’sBatmanearlier than in 2028, be it in a Superman sequel or another team-up, and we could then know who will play Bruce Wayne.
