Outlanderseason 8 could take Claire in a variety of directions, but I’ll be devastated if she doesn’t learn a tragic truth about her backstory. Of course, season 7 already saw Claire get some bizarre news regarding her past, with the reveal that her daughter, Faith Fraser, might have survived infancy. While it didn’t seem things could get much crazier than that,Outlander: Blood of My Bloodproved differently.
Though the newOutlanderprequel hasn’t yet premiered, the trailer has already revealed a shocking twist. As far as Claire has ever known, her parents died in a car accident when she was five years old, leaving her to be raised by her Uncle Lamb. Now, however,Blood of My Bloodhas revealed thatHenry and Julia Beauchamp actually time-traveledto 18th-century Scotland.
Precisely what happened to Henry and Julia is still unclear. We are sure to get more answers from the upcoming episodes ofOutlander: Blood of My Blood, but it’s unlikely that we will discover what ultimately became of the Beauchamps until the spinoff series comes to a close. Claire’s story, on the other hand, is ending withOutlanderseason 8—will these stories overlap?.
Claire Must Learn The Truth About Her Parents In Outlander Season 8
Her Story Can’t End Without Ever Learning They Survived
As of theend ofOutlanderseason 7, Claire has no idea that her parents didn’t die when she was five. She has absolutely no clue that Julia and Henry traveled back in time to 18th-century Scotland, just as Claire did, and she certainly doesn’t know that they ever met and befriended Jamie’s parents. Though Claire could easily die never knowing the truth, this would be a significant disappointment.
Outlander: Blood of My Blood’s big time-travel twist is brand new to the franchise. This isn’t something that author Diana Gabaldon ever put in her books, and she has even denied that there was anything mysterious or magical about the Beauchamps' car crash. However, now that this version of the story has been introduced, it wouldn’t make sense to leave it out of the centralOutlanderTV show.
Claire is sure to do some digging into her past in Outlander season 8, since she will be looking for any information about Faith Pocock, whom she believes to be her daughter.
Claire is sure to do some digging into her past in Outlander season 8, since she will be looking for any information about Faith Pocock, whom she believes to be her daughter. As she does,I desperately hope she will come across some evidence that her parents survived. It would even be nice to see her reunited with them in some capacity, though this would require someBlood of My Bloodcharacter crossovers.
Could Outlander Season 8 Have Crossover Characters With Blood Of My Blood?
Claire Could Be Reunited With Her Long-Lost Relatives
Intriguingly,Outlander: Blood of My Bloodis premiering its first season beforeOutlanderseason 8 brings the central story to a close. My hope is that this release schedule is a hint that there will be some crossover.Filming for both series took place around the same time, and the actors from each series have participated in promotional events together. Possibly, this is a sign of something great.
BetweenOutlanderseason 7 andOutlander: Blood of My Blood,it has now been revealed that three members of Claire’s family survived while she believed they were dead. This seems unlikely to be a coincidence, suggesting that these two stories are somehow related. If Claire appeared inBlood of My Bloodor the Beauchamps appeared inOutlander, it could satisfyingly tie these intriguing stories together.
