I’ve changed my mind; Samantha Riehl isn’t the villain ofFarmer Wants A Wifeseason 3, T’yana Nolen is. Samantha was accused of being the villain of the Fox reality dating show as early as episode 1, when she seemed to grill farmer John Sansone about his definition of loyalty. AfterSamantha was chosen for John’s first solo date, where she refused to kiss him, the villain accusations grew. Was Samantha faking her attraction to the farmer?

Ultimately,Samantha self-eliminated from the show, citing her and John’s clashing personalities despite their chemistry. Had Samantha really been on the show for the wrong reasons, she probably wouldn’t have cut her screen time short even if she had realized that her and John weren’t a perfect match. Meanwhile, T’yana, who’s on the show for farmer Jay Woods, has been causing a ton of drama and deliberately creating conflict with theFarmer Wants A Wifecast members, making her the true villain of the season.

Samantha’s Not The Villain

She Was Doing What Was Best For Her

Some of Samantha’s conversations and actions onFarmer Wants A Wifeseason 3 came off as self-absorbed, which is partially whyaudiences saw Samantha as the villain. Instead of focusing on what John was looking for in a partner, Samantha made her own wants and needs known. However, I think knowing what someone wants in a relationship isn’t a bad thing and shouldn’t be looked down on. Relationships take two people, andSamantha’s wants and needs are just as important as John’s.

T’yana’s Treating The Show Like A Game

Is She Here For The Right Reasons?

T’yana is the true villain of the season. While Samantha’s suspicious actions were all caught on camera,T’yana’s villainous ways couldn’t be shown to the audience directly. The other women on the show for Farmer Jay claimed T’yana was making rude comments when the cameras were down.

Grace Clark, who received the first solo date with Jay, claimed T’yana said she wouldn’t have wanted that date anyway because the first date recipient never makes it to the end. To Grace, that comment meantT’yana wasn’t trying to build a connection with Jay, she just wanted to make it far on the reality show. Grace confronted T’yana in epsiode 4 about her comments by saying the following:

“That was really frustrating for me because that sounds like you think it’s a game show and not like you’re winning a husband at the end of this. It’s not a game. Coming from a super-high high of the date and then hearing that made me not want to be friends with you, if I’m being completely honest. We’re here for Jay, and I feel like I can’t talk to you about that at all.”

I feel Grace is right;T’yana is treatingFarmer Wants A Wifelike a gameif her main concern is making it to the end of the show. Her bubbly personality and willingness to jump headfirst into farm life seem to be a façade in light of Grace’s accusations. This accusation alone is enough to make T’yana the villain of the show.

Jay deserves someone who will actually love him rather than someone who is looking for fame.

T’yana’s Drama With The Other Women Can’t Be Ignored

Grace Isn’t Her Only Enemy

Grace isn’t the onlyFarmer Wants A Wifecast member who was frustrated withT’yana. Julia Mya, a model from Malibu, California, also confronted T’yana in episode 4. Julia’s accusation was even more nefarious than Grace’s. According to Julia,T’yana called her a"h*,“an allegation T’yana did not deny. T’yana claimed she simply believed her and Julia were close enough to joke around like that, but Julia wasn’t buying it.

Later in episode 4, T’yana cried to Jay because she felt ostracized from the group. It didn’t seem like her tears did not seem genuine to me, and instead came off as another way of trying to manipulate Jay so she could stay on the show. T’yana may have hidden her mean girl behavior from theFarmer Wants A Wifecameras, but the allegations from the other women cannot be ignored. It’s because of these points I now think T’yana is the villain of the season, not Samantha.
