Battle Campbrought together some of the best of the best in Netflix reality TV, andToo Hot To Handle’sChase DeMoor & Georgia Hassarati, who first met during their time onPerfect Match, had the chance to truly get to know one another. Chase, who’s often been portrayed as the villain on the shows he’s been a part of, has been open about the fact that his time on screen hasn’t always shown his best side. A known competitor, Chase has a more athletic background than most of theBattle Campseason 1 cast.

Georgia, on the other hand, is often known for her bubbly personality and high-profile relationships. After winningPerfect Matchseason 1, things changed quickly for Georgia, but her reality TV stardom continued as she moved through new phases of her career as an influencer. Coming intoBattle Campseason 1with hopes of showing a new side of herself,Georgia didn’t anticipate seeing Chase in the mix of the competition, but when he came to be part of her team, it was a blessing in disguise. The pair spoke to Screen Rant about their exciting time on the show.

I was so blown away by how amazing of a person Chase is.

Screen Rant: So, coming out of very different Netflix experiences, how did you feel going intoBattle Camp?

Georgia Hassarati: I was kind of like delusional about the whole thing. I was like, you know what, maybe this is my time to prove myself. Like, I’m not used to doing any of the stuff that I was told I was going to be doing, but I was like, you know, let’s give it a try, maybe I’ll surprise myself. And honestly, I feel like I did. I was very scared. Me and Chase are from[Too Hot To Handle, where we’re]lounging around in bikinis, dating, looking cute. This was none of that. I feel like I didn’t look cute once, but I feel like I proved a lot for myself, I’m proud of myself.

Chase DeMoor: I definitely agree with that. Man, it was rough. I’ve always come from the swimming suits and the tans, so going to places covered in bugs and not a whole lot to look at [laughs] like, I had Georgia there, so I mean like it was some eye candy for me, but I would say overall, it was definitely a different experience. I’m a competitor by nature. I said that in every one of my shows and I’ve always been strategic, so just kind of just trying to find a way to be strategic and find a way to win [was where I started].

Screen Rant: Getting into strategy, did you feel like anything from your seasons ofToo Hot to Handlehelped you to kind of move through the competition?

Chase: You learn a lot. You know, what it’s like on Too Hot to Handle, I learned that you have to tread lightly on some of the things that you did. And you know, Battle Camp, one of the things was being un-hateable. I think it was a different mold for me because I’m the villain, I’m the bad guy. And obviously, like, Georgia and I have a track record, so it could have been super easy to go in there and just have like this rivalry with Georgia, the rest of the cast. But you know, honestly, I adore her. I adore everybody on the show, so, you know, it was really easy to just get along with everybody. It was the first time on a show that I was like that.

Screen Rant: That makes total sense. Honestly, it really did feel like we saw a different side of you. Georgia, do you feel like you took anything from your prior experiences?

Georgia: Yeah, I feel like I was scared of him coming in. I saw him standing on the platform and I’m like, he’s going to ruin my life. I don’t know what to do.

Chase: I’d say the same thing the first time I saw Georgia.

Georgia: Oh my gosh.

Chase: I’m still convinced she’s going to ruin my life, but I’m OK with it now.

Georgia: I’ve already done that one. I honestly, I took a risk of putting my hand up to see if Chase would take me on his team, and he did. From that moment, I was like, wow, I’ve seen a completely different side of Chase. He was amazing. Way more down to earth than I thought. I didn’t really get to know Chase on Perfect Match. I feel like I just had an impression of him, and then on Battle Camp, I feel like I really get to see who Chase is. And he’s great. He’s amazing, it was lovely to have him around. I’m really glad he was there.

Screen Rant: That’s incredible! From a competitive standpoint, Georgia, this was obviously something that you hadn’t done before. Do you feel like you found new parts of yourself onBattle Camp?

Georgia: Yeah, I feel like weirdly, this was kind of perfect for me, because I’m not the most physically athletic fit person, but I’m really competitive. So I was like, when I play board games, I’m like, we’re going to end in a full on fight, because if I don’t win, I’m going to be devastated. So when I walked in, I was like, I’m going to take this really seriously. And surprisingly, I did. And I feel like because of that, I pushed myself really far, like probably too far – but it was good. I did pretty well because of how competitive I am. I learned a lot about myself.

Screen Rant: Chase, you obviously are already known for being a competitor of sorts. Do you feel like you unlocked a new level of competition onBattle Camp?

Chase: Yeah, do you know what it is? It’s like when I was going in there, I was kind of just pumped with a lot of misinformation about what was the dynamic of things. And obviously, they sent me in as the team captain of the Eagles, and they’re like, yeah, they’re losing everything, you got a tough task on your hands. Basically, you’re going to have to do your best to run it, but honestly, it wasn’t even so much me that was competitive. I was more inspired by how everybody else was. Georgia, she said she’s not the most athletic person, but she was the first one that got on the dock to do the swimming to get the balls. She won the hanging challenge, and she’s done all these things. Her, Polly [Brindle], Lorenzo [Nobilio], all of them genuinely impressed me, because none of them come from any sort of athletic background. So in terms of the competitiveness, I was more inspired by them, because it would have been easier to take a backseat.

Screen Rant: That’s incredible. What was the most surprising thing about your experience on the show?

Chase: Mostly, to this day, I was surprised that I wasn’t the villian. I think back to that one wheel ceremony when everybody didn’t vote for me, aside for [Shubham Goel]. I just think it was the first time I was in a reality TV show where I wasn’t the villain, and I wasn’t the bad guy. I actually had people on my side that would’ve been genuinely sad to see me go. And that was cool, because I got to go in there and help the team turn around the dynamics, start winning these challenges, and be a finalist. Obviously, Georgia and I have a huge track record, we come fromToo Hot To HandleandPerfect Match, so I bring her in, but I was very surprised with how long we got on, how close we were on the show. We slept in the same cabin, we got ready together, ate breakfast together. It was never a doubt or ill thought in our heads the whole time, so I was really thankful for that.

Georgia: Honestly, similarly, probably how well I got along with Chase. That was very surprising to me, because I had conversations with other people on the show before he came in, and we were speculating who could come in. I was like, if Chase comes in, I’m so screwed. He’s going to come for me, he’s going to get me out of here, and I’m going to be so scared because I got rid of him on Perfect Match. Like, if I could do that again, I wouldn’t have done that, but we all have regrets. But he came in and honestly, we got along great. I was so blown away by how amazing of a person Chase is. He changed the whole dynamics of our team, and we started winning every challenge. So it was a huge blessing.
