Another Princess has finally arrived inDisney Dreamlight Valley; however, only those with theStorybook Valeexpansion will have access to Princess Aurora, also known as Sleeping Beauty. While players were able to catch a glimpse of Maleficent at the end of Part 1 ofStorybook Vale,Aurora is exclusive to Part 2, The Unwritten Realms, which means you’ll need to complete everything else first.
Spoiler Alert: This article contains spoilers for the ending of Disney Dreamlight Valley’s Storybook Vale expansion
In addition to having all the biomes inStorybook Valeunlocked, you’ll also need to havecompleted the main story quests of Part 1 and reached moderately high friendships with the residents ofStorybook Valethat you have had access to up to this point. Following that, you’ll also need to have completed the first half of Part 2 andunlocked Maleficent as a villagerto begin unlocking Aurora.
The Missing Princess Quest
Speak With Villagers To Uncover What Happened To Aurora
As is obvious by her lack of presence inStorybook Valethus far, Aurora is missing. So, to have the opportunity to unlock her, you’ll first need to find her. To start, speak with Flynn Rider, who, according to the Lorekeeper, was the last one to see Aurora. After some brief conversation, he’ll send you on a hunt for some of Aurora’s missing diary pages.
While you might’ve gathered several up to this point, these last few won’t appear until initiating this quest, so it’s impossible for you to already have them.To find the missing pages, you’ll need to look in the following locations:
Once you have all the pieces, you’ll uncover that Aurora actually spoke with the Lorekeeper last, who, when confronted, will reveal thatAurora stepped into the tapestry on the wall behind them. Unfortunately, when you attempt to do the same, the Lorekeeper will let you know that the tapestry does not recognize you as a hero like it did Aurora, so you’ll need to fix that before you can pass through.
A Hero Of Ink & Paper Quest
Save Aurora By Becoming The Hero Of The Vale
To figure out just how exactly to become a hero, you need to go andretrieve Fairy Tale books that have been scattered throughout the Vale. The first book you’re looking for can be found in thesmall library corridor underneath the bridge in The Bind. The second can be foundinside the crumbling fortress, just south of the portal there, in The Fallen Fortress. The third, and final book, can be foundin Mount Olympus on a small inclined path near the bridgethat connects Mount Olympus to The Beanstalk Marshes.
Once you have all three books, take them back to the Lorekeeper to be tasked withfinding all the ingredients necessary to craft the Hero of the Vale costume. Thankfully, most of the ingredients are pretty easy to track down, and you might even already have most of them. In addition to the fabrics that you need from each of theStorybook Valevillagers, you’ll need to gather some flowers and snippets from the various biomes.
Keep in mind thatnot all flowers and snippets are available in every biome. For example, the Red Demon Snippets you need do not appear in the Elysian Fields of Mythopia. So be sure to reference your collections tab in the menu to verify where the spawn locations are.
The only odd item on here is the Posidonia, but that can be found by fishing in open water, not fishing spots, in Mythopia. Once you have everything you need, head to a crafting table to put it all together tocraft the newStorybook Valecostume. Since it’s technically a furniture item at the moment, take it to the Lorekeeper, who will hand it back as a clothing item for you to equip, which will then allow you to enter the tapestry.
Complete The Trials Of Virtue, Truth, & Song
Complete A Trial With Each Of The Three Fairies From Sleeping Beauty
When you enter the tapestry, you will eventually find yourself in front ofthree stained-glass windows depicting the three fairies fromSleeping Beauty. After speaking with them, they’ll share that they’ve hidden Aurora away, and to reach her, you’ll need to pass a trial from each of them. They must be done in order, asthe doors will not open for the next trial until the last is completed. So, to begin, just head back into the main part of the castle and look for the newly opened set of doors.

Trial of Virtue
Speak with Merryweather’s stained-glass window in the room. From there, you need toretrieve the Dragon’s Flame and the Knight’s armto complete the shadow depiction on the wall. The flame can be found in the far back corner, behind some items you’ll need to remove. As for the arm, interact with the bookshelves to the left of the display, and they’ll open to reveal a secret room containing the arm. Return them both to their corresponding owners.
Lastly, enter Furniture Mode to rearrange the shapes so that the Knight is holding the stationary shield and the Dragon is breathing fire directly in front of it.
Once that’s done, retrieve the Shield of Virtue.
Trial of Truth
Speak with Fauna’s stained-glass window in the room. Your objective here is toarrange the shadows using Furniture Modeagain to depict an image that doesn’t scare the animals.Place the cage pieces around the stationary bird, and place the Mickey Mouse ears on the lion.
After that, you need to prepare a meal for the Rabbit and the Pegasus in the kitchen to the left of the stage.
Once they’re fed, retrieve the Sword of Truth.
Trial of Song
Speak with Flora’s stained-glass window in the room. This one is, once again, a shadow puzzle.Move the dancers near Flora’s window by interacting with themso they’re positioned properly, and then head down the stairs and enter Furniture Mode to complete the puzzle.
The arrangement, once you’ve moved the dancers, should bePiano, Dancer, Cello, Harp, Dancer, and Lute.
Once completed, retrieve the Cap of Song.
With everything in hand, head back to the Three Fairies, who will ask you to equip the itemsand then finally allow you to pass through the doors and meet the newestPrincess inDisney Dreamlight Valley, Princess Aurora.
Stop The Lorekeeper & Welcome Aurora
Unfortunately, mere seconds after Aurora’s grand introduction, the Lorekeeper will burst in to stop you from ruining their plans. They reveal that they’re the one who pushed Maleficent and Hades and that they are also the one who went after Aurora because she was on to them. In an attempt to stop them, you’ll then be pulled back into the Unwritten Realms to chase after the Lorekeeperand put an end to things once and for all.
During each phase, you’ll need to stop and speak with the Lorekeeper, who will then burst into various types of Snippets that you’ll be required to catch. Once you’ve caught all the ones for that scene, proceed on until you finally meet them at the top of a set of stairs and force them to hear you out once and for all. Eventually, they’ll lose, and you will be transported back to theStorybook Vale, where they will acknowledge their defeat and have youcomplete one last Lorekeeper story puzzle.
Following this, you’ll experience both the official ending ofThe Storybook Valeexpansionand earn the opportunity to unlock Aurora as a villager.Unlike Maleficent, she does come with a small cottage that you’ll need to build with Scrooge, but once you’ve built it, you’ll be free to move her to any biome you’d like, even those in Eternity Isle or Dreamlight Valley.
With that,Disney Dreamlight Valley’sStorybook Valeexpansion is complete, and all that’s left to do is wait for the next one. However, all may not be completely over inStorybook Vale, as there’s a little sneak peek that potentially promises more to come, if you want to stick around after the credits to see it.
