Fans that want to upgrade their bases inGroundedwill eventually need to collect some number of Weed Stems. Indeed, this crafting material is used to create many of the higher-quality structural elements in the game, though exactly whereGrounded’s Weed Stemscan be located may not be immediately obvious to all players.
In actuality there are two primary sources for Weed Stems inGrounded, and Dandelions are the source that players will be able to harvest first. To find Dandelions in this new survival game, fans should be on the lookout for dry grass, as the weed often grows near it. Once a Dandelion has been located, players should pull out theirPebblet Axeand chop it until it falls.

For fans that would like to have access to even more Weed Stems inGrounded, an Insect Axe is required. The recipe for this tier two axe is unlocked by using the Resource Analyzer to scan a Ladybug Head, and it can be crafted usingGrounded’s workbench. Armed with an Insect Axe, players will be able to bring down the plants designated simply as weeds, and this will vastly increase the rate at which fans can collect Weed Stems.
One other thing to say about Weed Stems is that they are carried very much like the Grass Planks that are used to buildfloors inGrounded, and they do not go into a player’s backpack. This is a good reason to work on crafting an Insect Axe, as having access to more Weed Stem sources will prevent players from having to haul this crafting resource over long distances.
That said, cutting down Dandelions does have its benefits, asGroundedplayerscan use their tufts as gliders. These gliders make navigating the yard not only easier, but more fun, and many players will certainly want to have a Dandelion Tuft or two in their inventories. However, gliders will not help players that are trying to transport Weed Stems, and thus they do not solve the problems that can arise from an inability to harvest the game’s more abundant weeds.
