Hogwarts Legacyhas continued its impressive launch by conquering two more major markets, with a new report stating that theHarry PotterRPG topped the latest weekly sales charts in both South Korea and Taiwan. This achievement further illustrates the game’s rapidly growing momentum which alreadysawHogwarts Legacybreak a 22-year-old sales recordin the United Kingdom and dominate Steam’s top sellers lists in dozens of countries the world over.
Not only didHogwarts Legacyturn into a strong contender for the biggest title of the year within days of its release, but its explosive success is also likely to continue for a while yet. Seeing how Avalanche Software is still working on ports for last-generation consoles, the hit open-world RPG has yet to become available to hundreds of millions of potential buyers come spring and summer.

In the meantime, newly published insights from Bahamut GNN and MediaCreate revealed thatHogwarts Legacydebuted at the top of weekly sales charts in South Korea, Taiwan, and Japan. While this data doesn’t include actual sales figures estimates, its rankings have some overlap and are consistent with an earlier report that does. Namely, Famitsu already reported thatHogwarts Legacytopped Japanese retail salesin its launch week, estimating that it outsold the second-placedPokemon Scarlet and Violet2.5 to one in the Far Eastern country. One caveat with both of these sources is that neither includes digital sales in their unofficial estimates, seeing how those are only known to the publisher who’s unlikely to disclose them until later this year.
Looking at the regional picture, theHarry Pottercraze appears to be going strong all over the Asia-Pacific territories, with an earlier report revealingHogwarts Legacyis currently also dominating sales in Australia, as well as New Zealand. And while the English-speaking APAC markets are historically as receptive to Western games as the West itself, seeing a game developed by a U.S. studio top sales charts in the likes of Taiwan and South Korea is an exceedingly rare occurrence, with Bahamut GNN and MediaCreate saying as much in their latest retail report.
What makes this growing number of weekly bestseller claims even more impressive is the fact that the newHarry Pottergamemanaged to amass them with four days to spare, seeing how it officially released on a Friday. Whether its historic success eventually leads to post-launch content remains to be seen, but as of right now, Avalanche Software is sayingthere are no plans forHogwarts LegacyDLC.
Hogwarts Legacyis available now on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. PS4 and Xbox One ports are releasing April 4, while the Switch version is arriving July 25.
