After suffering a major delay in development due to the global pandemic, Natsume released a trailer for the upcoming farming simulator,Harvest Moon: OneWorld, bringing the game closer to its release date next year.
Harvest Moon: One Worldwas announced back in May of this year, but didn’t get a release date after its development process was delayed by Covid-19 restrictions. It was initially planned to release this fall, butHarvest Moon: One Worldwill now release March 2nd, 2021 for the Nintendo Switch. LikeallHarvest Moongames,One Worldwill task the player with tending to farm while they meet and get to know the locals, and even marry one of them.

New inOne World,players will be able to tend to animals other than the traditional farm livestock, such as camels and reindeer. Like with pastHarvest Moongames, players will be able to plant crops, go fishing, mine minerals, and attend festivals. As far as marriages go, it’s unclear at this point whether or not Natsume will allow same-sex marriage, which wasnot the case with its last installment,Harvest Moon: Light of Hope.
This newHarvest Moongame is not to be confused with theStory of Seasonsseries. Publisher Natsume continued to own the rights to theHarvest Moonname after the originalHarvest Moongames were later rebranded by Xseed asStory of Seasons. This has caused a great amount of confusion over long-time fans, resulting in many thinkingStory of Seasonsis a spiritual successor to theHarvest Moongames, when it’s actually the other way around. This series with the upcomingHarvest Moon: One Worldgameis sometimes known as the Natsume series to alleviate confusion.
The prospect of the two series are largely the same, andStory of Seasonsalsohas another game releasing soon,Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town, set to release next year for the Nintendo Switch.
