ClassicGuilty Gearcharacter Anji Mito is returning to the franchise for its twenty-fourth release,Guilty Gear Strive, and a new trailer was released to celebrate.
Guilty Gear Strivewas originally supposed to release in 2020, but developerArc System Works had to delay the game due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.Now the game is set to release on April 9, featuring 15 playable characters with just two newcomers: close-range combat fighter Giovanna and vampire samurai Nagoriyuki.Anji Mito is the 14th character revealed, so it would be safe to assume the final character will arrive sometime between now and April.

The newGuilty Gear Strivetrailer starts off by showing Anji Mito in a standoff with Chipp Zanuff before the fan-wielding master beats up on Giovanna, Sol Badguy, Millia Rage, Zato-1, and more. Fans responded in the comments of the trailer posted to youTube sharing their love for developer Arc System Works retaining his original moveset, as well as retaining his tiny glasses and shirtless style.
Guilty Gear Strivewill release on April 9 for PS4 and Steam, but it was confirmed in October thatGuilty Gear Strivewill also be coming to PS5 asa free upgrade to owners of the PS4 version, with cross-playbetween the two PlayStation systems. This happens to make it the first all-new fighting game to release on next-gen platforms, an honor befitting the fighting game masters behind theGuilty GearandBlaz Bluefranchises.
Arc System Works just announced another new fighting game last week when it announced a partnership with Neople to developa fighting game based on theDungeon Fighter OnlineMMO universe. The game will be calledDungeon & Fighter Duel,orDNF Duelfor short. The game does not have a release date, or many details announced for that matter, so fans should not be expecting it anytime soon.
Guilty Gear Strivewill release for PC, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5 on July 09, 2025.
