Summary
In April, Google announced a newManage Subscriptions featurefor Gmail, which has been in the testing phase for several months. And while we’ve seen a few users randomly get the new Manage Tab on Android or iPhone, it’sfinally official and rolling outto all users on Android, iOS, and the web. However, the rollout is staggered between platforms and you might not see it right away.
The all-new “Manage subscriptions” view is available inside the navigation bar near the top left corner of your Gmail inbox, below the trash button and all your individual folders or email categories. Tap on the Manage subscriptions button to get started.
It’s worth noting that this is currently rolling out as we speak, so not everyone will see it today. According to Google’s announcement, it’ll first arrive for most users of Gmail on the web. Then, a broader rollout will continue next week inside the Android app, followed by iOS around July 21st. That said, it could take several weeks to arrive for everyone, if not longer.
According to Google, the Manage subscriptions option is “rolling out now on web, Android and iOS to select countries,” but we didn’t get a full list of supported regions. Furthermore, it’ll be available later this month for all Google Workspace customers, individual users, and those with a personal Google account.
Gmail’s new Manage subscriptions feature is a small yet meaningful change that’ll greatly impact users. Being able to see all of your subscriptions in one place and easily manage them is a game-changer. It’s a popular feature we’ve seenarrive from some of the competition, like Proton Mail. In other news, Google recentlyimproved Gmail searchwith new AI tools, added better encryption, and is constantly improving its popular email client. Get ready for subscription controls in the coming days and weeks.
