Warning! Spoilers for Ginny & Georgia season 3 ahead!Georgia is trying to turn over a new leaf afterGinny & Georgiaseason 3, but she already has a chaotic replacement all lined up. Throughout the Netflix series' first two seasons, we watched Georgia twist and bend circumstances to get what she wanted. There seemed to be no limits or restrictions, so long as she came out on top. This went as far as murder on three occasions (that we know of anyway), and inGinny & Georgiaseason 3, we finally watched Georgia face the consequences of her actions. This inspired some (at least temporary) change in this character.

At theend ofGinny & Georgiaseason 3, Georgia decided to make a break for it. She knew that the chances of being found innocent ofTom Fuller’s murderwere small, and she couldn’t handle spending the rest of her life locked up in prison. So, Georgia cut her ankle monitor and ran. Later, Georgia called Ginny and revealed that she couldn’t bring herself to leave her kids behind. It was a rare, selfless moment for the character. Of course, while Georgia attempts to make personal improvements, Ginny is working in the opposite direction.

She May Be The New Source Of Chaos In Ginny & Georgia

Ginny & Georgiaseason 3 was the first time we saw Georgia do something genuinely just for her kids. Assuming this wasn’t all a lie (we never actually saw Georgia turn herself in), this would mean a massive moral improvement for Georgia. This, combined with the fact that Georgia refused to throw Cynthia or Joe under the bus to save herself, implies that there still could be hope for this character yet. Unfortunately, this doesn’t mean thatGinny & Georgiawill be without a morally chaotic character.

Georgia’s decision to stay and go to prison for the sake of her children ironically inspired Ginny to make a change inGinny & Georgia. She decided to play dirty, and, because of her, Austin testified in court that his dad, not his mom, had murdered Tom Fuller. To ensure that the jury believed Austin, Ginny blackmailed Cynthia into admitting that Gil could have entered the house without anyone noticing. It was all masterfully done, and Ginny got exactly what she wanted in the end. It wasn’t the right way to go about things, but it was definitely effective.

Still, just as Ginny began to see herself as an individual free of Georgia’s influence and decisions, she turned around and became just ike her.

Of course, all of this was precisely Georgia’s style. Ginny had been desperate not to become her mother, and,for a time, she seemed to have proven that she wasn’t the sort of woman that Georgia was. She knew the difference between right and wrong, even when faced with difficult choices. Still, just as Ginny began to see herself as an individual free of Georgia’s influence and decisions, she turned around and became just ike her.

Ginny Is All Set Up To Be The New Georgia (While Georgia Could Turn Over A New Leaf)

The fact that Ginny stepped right into her mother’s shoes inGinny & Georgiaseason 3 implies that season 4will see a major shift in dynamics.Ginny may essentially be the new Georgia, making selfish, damaging, and manipulative decisionsfor the sake of her own security. Georgia, on the other hand, appears to be making her best attempt at turning over a new leaf. She wants to earn the freedom that her daughter sacrificed her morality for.

It’s difficult to say how long Ginny and Georgia will swap places in the coming episodes. We can hope that Ginny won’t go as far as murder, since that would be almost too dark of a twist. However, that would adequately put into perspective just how terrible Georgia’s own crimes are. People tend to excuse her, but even as Georgia turns over a new leaf, the truth is that she really does deserve to face the consequences of her actions. Hopefully, the coming episodes ofGinny & Georgiawill see Ginny realize once again that she doesn’t belong on Georgia’s path.
