As is generally the case with online releases, developers are constantly tweaking and balancing the titles with updates to ensure that a given game is as polished as can possibly be for its player base, andFortniteBattle Royale is no exception. Now,Epic Gameshas decided to make fans aware of some key changes coming to the title soon, including alterations involving plane damage and some weapon reloads.
According to a post on the officialFortniteBattle Royale subreddit, this week’s v7.40 update for the free-to-play title is set to change it so that planes can no longer fly through structures and destroy them, which ought to promote a sense of safety to those perched atop a tower they’ve built while doing battle with anX-4 Stormwing. What’s more is that rocket launcher reload times will be increased from 2.52s to 3.24s, giving those on the receiving end of the explosive weapon a little more time to try and survive.
In addition to these aforementioned changes inFortniteBattle Royale, Epic will also be adding a Zipline interact prompt, and making it so that using a Zipline will grant fall damage immunity. Plus,Hand Cannonstructure damage will be reduced from 150 to 100, Turbo Build delay is going to be decreased from 0.15s to 0.05s, and in what is potentially the most useful feature, the ability to crouch while in Edit Mode will be incorporated into the title.
Since there’s still some time left to go between now andFortniteBattle Royale’s weekly update, there’s a good chance that Epic will bring about even more changes and fixes to the game’s v7.40 patch before it drops. After all, the studio is preparing to add Overtime Challenges during its Share the Love event for those who have completed their 10 weekly Challenges and are looking for more action to keep them busy, so expect to hear more about them soon.
Fortniteis available now in early access for Android, iOS, PC, PlayStation 4, Switch, and Xbox One.
