Update: AllFortniteservices have been restored. Original story follows.
Today is a big day for fans ofFortnite, as its the launch of the Marvel-themed Season 4 in the battle royale game. Unfortunately, manyFortnitefans are currently unable to play the game, with thousands reporting issues connecting across all platforms.
Epic Gamesis aware of theFortniteconnectivity issues, and has released a statement to that effect. Epic Games is currently investigating the problems withFortniteservices, specifically pointing out that logging in and matchmaking is not working for players. Epic will provide an update when the issues have been resolved, but did not provide a specific timetable for whenFortnitefans can expect to start playing the game again.

It’s unclear exactly what caused this issue, as theFortniteservers are typically pretty stable and rarely go down, if ever. It’s possible that it’s experiencing an overwhelming influx of players due to the release of theMarvel-themed content and challenges, but considering how many people playFortniteregularly, that seems unlikely. Hopefully Epic Games is able to resolve the problem sooner rather than later, and we will update this article as soon as it does.
While PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One gamers can expect to playFortniteSeason 4 later today when the problems have been resolved, those on iOS devices won’t be as lucky. Due to the ongoing legal battle between Epic Games and Apple,Fortniteon iOS devices is stuck in Season 3. There’s currently no end in sight for the legal issues either, and so it’s unclear when Apple users will get to experienceFortnite’s Marvel content.
Fortniteis out now for PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
