Without a doubt, Chris Avellone is one of the most well-known and respected figures in the gaming industry today thanks to his past work on such stellar role-playing games asFallout2,Fallout: New Vegas,Planescape: Torment,Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 2,Torment: Tides of Numenera, andDivinity: Original Sin 2. Now, the co-founder of Obsidian Entertainment has been making waves by potentially teasing that a newFalloutgame could be on the way.

As seen in the image found directly below, Avellone updated the profile picture on his Facebook page with an image of theFalloutfranchise’s mascotVault Boybeing hugged by a stick figure that is saying, “I missed you so much.” While the Obsidian Entertainment co-founder didn’t go so far as to explicitly state that he’s currently working on something connected to the post-apocalyptic RPG franchise, the picture certainly implies as much

For those unaware, Avellone is quite the busy man right now, as he’s currently attached to projects such asPathfinder: Kingmaker, theSystem Shockreboot, as well asBard’s Tale 4, so it’s quite possible that the Obsidian co-founder’s profile picture change isn’t intentionally implying that he’s working on a newFalloutgame. Of course, Avellone could simply be working on a project that’s related to the franchise outside of the video game medium, as he’s previously written a comic book in theFallout: New Vegasuniverse entitledAll Roads.

Bearing all of this in mind, while the notion of a newFalloutgame with Chris Avellone in the mix is an incredibly exciting notion, there’s not much else to go on other than his new Facebook profile picture. Yes, Obsidian Entertainment has continued to express thatit “would love” to make a new gamein the series, and Avellone could possibly take a break from his current gig at Larian Studios to return to his old stomping grounds at Obsidian to work on it, but without an official announcement or even a scrap of evidence, all that we can do at the moment is wait and speculate.

The most recent entry in Bethesda’s post-apocalyptic RPG franchise isFallout4, which is available now for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
