The blind veteran choking out Rocky’s boyfriend in Don’t Breathe

Well, there was some backward progress on it for a while. But I think it’s possible things will move forward. I think there’s a concept. It’s a hard thing, the whole point between Fede and Rodo and myself is that if we’re going to do another movie, it’s got a rival in Don’t Breathe and Don’t Breathe 2, both of which were very different. It can’t be a knock off, it’s got to be something really complete, and that’s hard to find. They’re really smart guys, but they’ve been very busy with a lot of stuff. They’re hot, so it’s hard, but I talked to them within the last couple of months and there’s some minimal progress. I hope we do it, because I’d really like to kill the old buzzard off. [Laughs]

What This Means For Don’t Breathe 3

The Directors Might Have An Idea For Don’t Breathe 3

Though news about the potential thirdDon’t Breathemovie has been scarce, Lang’s statement reveals that the project is being actively developed. The actor, who is enthusiastic about reprising his role in the future, teases that the third installmentis still in early development and could be the last entry in the series, although nothing is set in stone yet. The lack of concrete updates could be due to the creative effort being spent behind the scenes.

It sounds like the third movie has encountered some challenges with the concept. From writers-directors Fede Álvarez and Rodo Sayagues' busy schedules to the movie’s direction, the creative process hasn’t been smooth. However, the actor remains optimistic about the upcoming projectand indicates that it’s “possible” that things might start to move forward after nailing down the concept.

Our Take On Don’t Breathe 3

Don’t Breathe 3 Could Feel Very Different From The Previous Two Films

Despite being a sequel, taking place eight years afterthe events inDon’t Breathe,Don’t Breathe 2departed drastically from the original movie. Many have voiced their surprise about the different direction the sequel went, arguing that the second movie didn’t feel like a continuation of the first. It sounds likeAlvarez and Sayagues are approaching the third movie similarly, positioning it as a distinct entry rather than reusing the same format.

It’s not hard to imagine the challenge of finding something fresh while still following the same thread of stories revolving aroundLang’s The Blind Man, but it sounds likethere might be a solid idea forDon’t Breathe 3already. If that’s true and nothing changes, audiences might be able to hear more solid news sooner as more progress is made.
