V1 Interactive, a new independent studio led by a prominent figure in the gaming industry, has released a new trailer for its debut gameDisintegration.
Disintegrationis an upcoming first-person shooter game developed for current-gen systems. It’s the debut title for the new studio, led by co-creator of theHaloseriesMarcus Lehto.

Many fans of Lehto’s past work are excited to see what he will do with a new studio and title that he has full directorial control over. And now, after about four years of development, players have received a glimpse of what they can expect of the story from a trailer released on V1’s officialYouTube channel.
The story takes place in afuturistic settingon Earth, where the world is failing due to economic collapse, disease, and climate change. A company called Sangfroid fully developed the process for what it describes as “Integration,” which puts human minds inside robot bodies to put less strain on the demand for resources.
However, a radical militant group named Rayonne hijacked this process to enforce it around the world and make those robots become their slaves. Players take control of an integrated robot named Romer Shoal, who leads a rebellion group against Rayonne with the goal to save the surviving humans and free the rest of the world from Rayonne’s scheme. The trailer also showcases lines from a variety of cast members that delves into their backstory, including a villain that sounds nearly identical to Ultron fromAvengers: Age of Ultron.
It is always refreshing to see new ideas come to light. Lehto also hopes to break new grounds with gameplay by incorporating real-time strategy elements as well, creating a unique hybrid of the two. Hopefully, if this project does well, Lehto can continue to create passion projects that can differentiate from the usual first-person shooters that tend to clutter the market. Fans will just have to see how the game does and hope thatCOVID-19won’t drastically affect the success of a title Marcus Lehto worked so hard to bring to the world.
