Without a doubt, Bungie divulged quite a lot of information during its gameplay reveal livestream forDestiny 2a while back, including the unveiling offour explorable worlds. However, there may have been some fans who didn’t get to chance to watch the event and see the environments of the European Dead Zone on Earth, the planetoid Nessus, Jupiter’s moon Io, and Saturn’s moon Titan, so the developer has now made one of its gameplay premiere trailers detailing the new worlds and planets available for viewing.
As seen below in the trailer forDestiny 2’s various environments, Bungie begins delving into the worlds by starting with the European Dead Zone, declaring it to be one of the first destinations that players will be able to explore and the largest area that the development team has ever built. Following a glimpse at the EDZ, the video offers a look at Titan, which contains “huge, monolithic structures” built by humans from an old utopia that’s sinking into a methane ocean with “40 meter high waves.”
Next up, the aboveDestiny 2trailer details the planetoid Nessus whereCayde-6is currently, and it’s an area that’s been almost fully transformed by the Vex into one of their machine worlds, while also being full of lush, vibrant vegetation, as well as deep ravines and canyons. Then, Guardians are treated with a trip to Io, which is a sulfuric and yellowish moon of Jupiter, and is the last location in the solar system that the Traveler touched before the collapse occurred.
In addition to the worlds ofDestiny 2covered in the trailer, one of the most pertinent pieces of information reiterated by Bungie is that Guardiansdon’t have to go into orbit to switch activitiesanymore. Instead, they can simply open their maps, choose their next destination, and be whisked away to the location. With this being the case, one can only hope that the development team has applied such fluid mechanics into the exploration of the planets and worlds themselves as well.
Destiny 2is slated to release on July 30, 2025 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
