After a rough few hours at launch, Season of the Splicer seems to be another hit withDestiny 2players. The new content sees the return of charactersnot seen in quite some time such as the Fallen Splicer Mithraxand Ikora, while also continuing to push forward the overarching narrative established within Beyond Light. It also helps that this season features a number of must have weapons and gear, providing another strong reason for players to continue logging in day after day.
Naturally, each season features more than a few secrets for players to uncover at specific moments, and this season looks to be no different. One of the big reveals this season is the return of thesummer event known as Solstice of Heroes. While Bungie has yet to discuss the returning event, many have assumed it’ll likely play similarly to past years. However, it appears that some assets including the armor set is already inside the game files, which dataminers have since uncovered and shared online.

The full Solstice armor set for each of the three classes have been uncovered by reddit user FireMasterGaming1, who uploaded the images of the armor sets to theDestiny 2subReddit. For each of the classes, the armor appears very ornate with tons of gold trim and designs on white armor. There’s also a hint of purple on the armor set, which some fans have begun to speculate as being a result of the former Cabal Emperor Calus once again making contact. Oddly enough, the Warlock set appears to be incomplete with the arms, bond, and gloves missing.
For those who may not be a fan of the default colors of white, black, and purple with gold trim, this year’s armor looks to have another trick up its sleeve. As Bungie previously revealed, the shader system got an overhaul behind the scenes and will better adhere to armor. This seems to be true for the Solstice 2021 armor as FireMasterGaming1 shared more images with the armor under a different shader set to show that even the gold trim can be completely changed.
Naturally, things could easily change between now andwhen the Solstice of Heroes starts, so while these images seem legit, for now, players should take them with a grain of sand until Bungie officially reveals things.
While Bungie has provided a seasonal content roadmap for players to keep tabs on, the fan base is always delving into game files to uncover secrets that the studio may not be ready or willing to divulge at this time. A leak earlier this week seems to have discovered anotherlive event coming towards the end of the currentDestiny 2season. If true, this epilogue event seems to hint at a potential large scale Vex invasion, with players and the House of Light Fallen banding together to push back the large scale assault. With a ways to go before the season comes to a close, players have a while before the truth is revealed.
