TheDestiny 2Season 8 name is Season of the Undying. Again, we don’t know exactly what it will entail, but more information on that front should come as we get closer to its start date. However, fans shouldn’t have to wait quite as long to learn more about the future ofDestiny 2in a general sense.

destiny 2 season 8 name revealed

That’s because Bungie is revealing the next chapter forDestiny 2in a special presentation on June 6. It’s during this event that Bungie is expected to pull the curtain back onDestiny 2’s Year 3 expansion, details of which have already leaked online thanks to dataminers sifting through the Season of Opulence update.

Dataminers have discovered that the next majorDestiny 2expansion is called Shadowkeep, and it will take place on the moon. According to the leak, theDestiny 2Shadowkeep expansionwill be available this fall, and while an exact release date isn’t available, we can make an educated guess based on when pastDestiny 2expansions have launched.

Typically, Bungie has released newDestinycontent in September. In fact, basically every majorDestinyexpansion since the first game has launched in early September, so it would be odd for Bungie to break from that pattern now.Bungie’s split from Activisioncould potentially impact its release schedule and push back the Shadowkeep expansion from a September release, though that is just speculation at this time.

Luckily, fans won’t have to speculate too much longer about the future ofDestiny 2. Bungie’sDestiny 2"Next Chapter" livestream will take place on Thursday, June 6 at 10am PT. It’s then when the future of theDestinyfranchise, potentially even news about Season of the Undying, will be revealed.

Destiny 2is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
