Bungie is doing everything it can to hype upDestiny 2before the release ofCurse of Osiris, the online multiplayer shooter’s first expansion. The company’s latest move, as rumored, is the release of a free trial forDestiny 2across PC, PS4, and Xbox One. The free trial is planned to go live tomorrow, November 28, alongside the third and finalCurse of Osirislivestreamand a Q&A fromDestiny 2director Luke Smith.

As for what players can expect to find inDestiny 2’s free trial, its scope remains a mystery. Bungie has yet to unveil what content will become free for players to try out. However, if the originalDestiny’s free trial can be used as an example,Destiny 2’s trial will provide the same amount of access as what was available in the game’s open beta.

For those who may have missedDestiny 2’sopen beta, it featured a small selection of content from all of the game’s major content areas. Players could play through the first major campaign mission, the Inverted Spire strike, or participate in Crucible PvP across two different modes. If a new emblem tied to the beta is any indication, the trial may feature a few more story missions than were in the beta.

All progress made while playing theDestiny 2trial will carry over into the main game if players purchaseDestiny 2later. It’s just too bad the free trial didn’t come out prior to the big holidayBlack Friday saleswhereDestiny 2was available for as low as $29.99. That said, it appears that Bungie will be permanently droppingDestiny 2’s price to $39.99, so there’s still a discount to be had.

The free trial, discount, and upcomingQ&A with game director Luke Smithare all part of Bungie’s big lead-up to the launch ofCurse of Osiris. The expansion is likely to be Bungie’s big response to recent criticisms ofDestiny 2; players will hopefully rediscover their love for the game this December. Fans hoping for Bungie to reinvigorate the community should know what to expect in the next few days.
