It’s no major secret thatDestiny 2fans have been waiting for today’sopen betaon PlayStation 4 for quite a while, but many Guardians are currently unable to experience all of what the test has to offer, as they are being held up by a Moose error code that continually appears during their playtime. As it so happens, the Moose error code has not been allowing some fans to complete the starting mission, or any activity for that matter, with the game crashing and disconnecting players from the server.
As seen in the tweet below from Bungie, the studio is well aware of the issue, and it suggests a workaround requiring Guardians to relaunch their activity in theDestiny 2beta on PS4. However, there are numerous players who attest to having tried a relaunch, and have even gone so far as to reboot their entire console in order to see if it would make the Moose error code cease, leaving the developer to investigate the issue until it’s thoroughly solved.
The appearance of the Moose error code inDestiny 2’s beta on PlayStation 4 shortly follows a litany of reports involving a Termite error code, which had forced players to persistently login to Bungie’s servers to experience the trial, as there have been an extremely large amount of fans attempting to access the beta. Nevertheless, the studio’s development team eventually quelled the Termite errors, which suggests that it will find a fix to the Moose error codes too.
Taking all of this into account, withDestiny 2’s open beta on PS4 being one of the most highly anticipated gaming events of the year, it’s understandable that the trial is encountering hang-ups, especially with so many people flooding the servers. With any luck, the game’sbackend systemswill be able to efficaciously manage the deluge of users soon enough so as to allow any and all comers to give the firstDestiny 2beta a go.
Destiny 2is slated to release on June 16, 2025 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, with a launch on PC scheduled for July 23, 2025.
