Desperados 3is a tactical stealth game based in the wild west developed by Mimimi Games. As one of themost underrated games of 2020, many anticipated–or at least hoped–thatDesperados 3would make its way to the Nintendo Switch. But that looks to not be the case.
There have been some very solid ports to the Nintendo Switch; some of which have come in creative ways. A game likeDoom 3reviewed very well on the Switch, even though graphically it looks rather dull. Meanwhile,Controlis actually streamed via the cloud onto the Switch to make it run properly. SoDesperados 3is a title that, in theory, would be something that could be able to find its way to Nintendo’s hybrid console.

Desperados 3is a very highly reviewedtitle for the PC, PS4, and Xbox One. Although the game is not overly graphically intensive, it is more demanding on the CPU than it may seem at first glance. Head of design over at Mimimi Games, Moritz Wagner, recently chimed in onDesperados 3and trying to port it to the Nintendo Switch. He said that the entire team at Mimimi Games are fans of the Nintendo Switch and they have been trying to makeDesperados 3run “for quite some time.” However, Wagner says he doesn’t think it is going to work.
The thing is the game is very demanding – especially CPU, which is a big problem for the normal consoles already getting this game running. Which sometimes you might not believe it, because it’s not Red Dead or something, right?
Wagner says that there is perhaps a chance for a Nintendo Switch Pro version ofDesperados 3, althoughNintendo has been dodging Switch Pro rumorsfor months. The developer could also get creative with streaming, asControldid. Either way, it is likely disappointing for fans that the game won’t be on the Nintendo Switch; at least for now.
Desperados 3releases June 16, 2o2o, for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
