Without a doubt,Death Strandingis easily one ofthe PS4’s most highly anticipated exclusivesto date, as it will provide gamers with the first title from director Hideo Kojima ever since his tumultuous departure from the publisher and developer Konami. Today, in order to further increase fans' interest for the project, Kojima decided to offer up a tease for an impending trailer that will be revealed during E3 2018.

As seen in the first image in the tweet below from Hideo Kojima’s official Twitter account, theDeath Strandingdirector shows an icon on the desktop of a Windows PC with a single file name that reads “E3_2018_trailer_edit_002_20180518.prproj”, which is surely the trailer he’s working on for the big event next month. Inexplicably enough, the second image Kojima shared is a standing model of Godzilla, the King of the Monsters, looking out a window.

DespiteDeath Strandinghaving been announced nearly two years ago at E3 2016, there’s still very little known about the game itself, so there’s no telling what exactly Kojima plans on showing off at this year’s Electronics Entertainment Expo. Since its initial reveal, though, the director has released other cinematic trailers, but many would argue that these footage reels – particularlythe one that debuted at The Game Awards 2017– have only made the project more enigmatic.

All things considered, it’s understandable why many fans are putting their trust in Kojima due to his stellar track record with theMetal Gear Solidseries, but one can still hope for the director to finally show off some concrete evidence ofDeath Stranding’s gameplay soon. While the safest bet to make is that E3 2018 will host yet another trailer with a mind-bending narrative, perhaps Kojima will surprise everyone with the most coherent footage yet duringSony’s PlayStation press conference.
