The Age of Revelationis almost here, promising to plunge theX-Meninto one of the darkest eras mutantkind has ever faced, and along with this new chapter,Deadpoolwill be debuting one of his most terrifying designs to date. The real kicker is that this transformation isn’t just visual; it has also changed the very essence of Wade Wilson’s being.
… now the eye-sore anti-hero has a design and face that not even Blind Al could love.
As previously revealed by Marvel,Age of Revelationis set ten years in the futureafter the villain Revelation has taken control and the X-Virus has transformed much of the population into mutants. Among those affected is none other thanWade Wilson, who is now a mutant himself. However, this is a classic case of being careful what you wish for.
Deadpool quickly discovers that being a mutant comes at a price when the virus amplifies his healing factor beyond control, leaving his mind trapped in a body that hungers endlessly. He can no longer be satisfied unless he devours the life force of other mutants, turning his gift into a nightmare.
At San Diego Comic-Con 2025, during theMarvel Comics: X-Menpanel, the publisher confirmed thatDeadpool will be a zombie and will get his ownAge of Revelation seriesby Tim Seeley and Carlos Magno. TitledUndead-Pool, the first issue is set to drop on July 18, 2025, and just in time for Wade to ruin everyone’s Halloween in the best way possible.
The first issue willsee the insatiable Undead-Pool set his sights on the new blood in the Marvel Universe: Fearless, Magni, Kid Man-Thing, and Fantastica. It will be interesting to see if these characters become future staples in X-Men storytelling or if they are simply here to serve as Wade’s next ready-to-eat mutant snack.
Deadpool’s Zombie Design Gives Him a Face Not Even Blind Al Could Love
TheMarvel Comics: X-Menpanel also showed off Erik M. Gist’s main cover for the issue, givingfans a sneak peek at Deadpool’s new horrifying look.Granted, Wade Wilson has never exactly been a“looker”thanks to his horrific origins, but now the eye-sore anti-hero has a design and face thatnot even Blind Al could love.
The cover shows Wade in his classic Deadpool attire, although it is looking a little rough around the edges. His suit is visibly damaged and torn open, revealing plenty of cratered, pockmarked skin.Even his katanas are in poor condition, with one clearly broken and jagged, yet still serving their purpose based on the blood wetting the blade.
However, it is Andrea Sorrentino’s variant cover forUndead-Pool#1 that truly drives home just how far gone Wade really is. He is shown foaming at the mouth, with a blade sticking straight through his head and a wild, mindless look in his eyes. While more is yet to be revealed, this version ofDeadpoolis already nightmare fuel.
