With no prior notice from Bandai Namco,Dark Souls Remasteredhas released a day early on PC.
The official release date forDark Souls Remasteredis still set for tomorrow, May 25, but the game has inexplicably become available on Steam ahead of schedule. It is quite unusual for games to release without any kind of announcement, and even then it is rarely a full day in advance.
Whatever the reason may be,Dark Souls Remasteredshould now be present in user libraries and is available to purchase on the store page at $39.99. Additionally, because of an early release, there are early reviews as well. The game is currently sitting at “Mixed,” with about 67% of users giving it a positive score.
Unfortunately, the early release does not carry over to consoles, and those playing on either PlayStation 4 or Xbox One will have to hold on for one more day.
Nintendo Switch owners will have to wait even longer, as the game was delayed until later this summer. There is no firm release date for the Nintendo Switch version at this time, but one is expected in the near future. As is common with Nintendo games of late, the Switch version ofDark Souls Remasteredwill have amiibo support. It will also have its ownSolaire of Astora amiibo, but, contrary to how amiibos work in many other titles, this one will not give players any kind of advantage in the game. Rather, it simply lets players perform the “Praise the sun!” gesture and nothing more.
