Marvel Brought ‘Gwen Stacy’ Back, Just Not the One Fans Thought
Earlier this year, Marvel Comics made a big show online when the publisher announced that it was bringing back Gwen Stacy as its newest version of Gwenpool. Fans assumed it was some kind of stunt, but Marvel insisted this was the real Gwen and, up until now, the series played up the mystery of whether that was true or not.
Honestly, it’s a relief that Gwenpool isn’t Gwen. Fans were pretty critical of the idea of bringing back the original Gwen Stacy and turning her into a killer. That being said, it’s a shame Marvel felt like they had to trick readers with such a bait-and-switch. But at least that means the original Gwen is resting in peace.
