Pratt’s earliest animated voice role came in the 2000s animated DC series,The Batman. This is still one of his lesser-known performances, asit is from long before people knew who Chris Pratt was.The Batmanran for five seasons on Kids WB and Cartoon Network.

It was a success, winning six Daytime Emmy Awards, but it is often overshadowed thanks toearlier success withBatman: The Animated Series. It is also only a small role for Pratt, as the actor voices Jake in the season 5 episode, “Attack of the Terrible Trio.”

The episode features three college misfits using stolen mutagens from Doctor Kirk Langstrom (Man-Bat) to mutate themselves to exact revenge on those who scorned them.Pratt’s Jake is one of these kids and turns himself into an ape-human hybrid, making for a noteworthy superhero genre appearance from the days before the MCU.

In 2024, Pratt took on a famous news strip comic character in the animatedThe Garfield Movie. The film, based on the comic strip by Jim Davis, follows the titular cat, a lazy feline that would rather eat lasagna than do anything else. Pratt voices Garfield, andit was a tough task since the last person to voice the cat was Bill Murray.

Murray’s 2004 movie is a live-action-animated hybrid that was a box office success but critically panned, except for Murray’s perfect voice performance. Pratt’sGarfieldmade close to the same box office take, and saw slightly better reviews, although it was still mostly negative from critics. However,aGarfieldsequel is still in development.

The second TV cartoon in which Pratt starred wasBen 10: Ultimate Alien, which also ranks slightly higher in his career since it was a repeat role for the actor.Pratt voices Cooper, one of Ben’s alliesand the grandson of a law enforcement friend of Max,who is part of the Plumbers.

Cooper makes his firstappearance in the originalBen 10seriesepisode, “Ben 10 vs. Negative 10: Part 1” in the fourth season, where he is voiced by Cathy Cavadini. He spends much of the episode needing protection, but also demonstrates his genius with technology and helps Ben win.

Corey Padnos voiced the character inAlien Force, but Pratt then signed on for the role inUltimate Alien. Here, Cooper has grown significantly and become muscular, while showing an attraction to Gwen, who reciprocates his feelings. However, Pratt only voices the character in two episodes before never coming back again.

Of course, Emmet can’t help but attract the attention of aliens.

Unlike most regular movies, this one doesn’t end in a terrible battle, but insteadit proves that sometimes Emmet’s optimistic nature is all that is needed for everyone to have a good time. It’s a short film and a smaller story, but it shows the heart thatThe LEGO Movieis best known for.

The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Partfaced the challenge of following the first movie, which is essentially a masterpiece. There was no way it could match the subtext and brilliance of that movie’s twists, so this one played in the arena with those twists. However, what resulted was a film that told a story just as powerful.

Once again, Chris Pratt voices Emmet, the basic LEGO minifigure who becomes the Chosen One in the first installment. Here, the story changes as Emmet and Lucy live in an apocalyptic version of Bricksburg, and there is no explanation for what happened other than an alien attack and the destruction of their way of life.

The first movie is about a young boy who wants to play, and his father holds him back because of strict guidance on how LEGO should be played with. The second has the young boy as the actual antagonist, as it is his sister who just wants to play with him, and he is acting just like his dad from the first film.

It is a clever subversion of the original film’s message, allowingThe LEGO Movie 2: The Second Partto stand on its own.
