However,Deadlinereports thatPratt will be going behind-the-scenes as an executive producer forGod’s Country, a dark comedy being developed by Amazon MGM Studios. Created by John Owen Lowe, best known for the Netflix comedyUnstable,God’s Countryfollows a family described as having “Shakespearean roots,” whose real estate mogul patriarch sets about gentrifying “the heart of America.” But a small town’s past threatens him and his family’s endeavors. Samir Mehta, showrunner of crime dramaUnder the Bridge, will serve as showrunner forGod’s Country, while Adam Londy of Tornante will be another executive producer.

The Show’s Premise Seems Like Potent Commentary

Pratt’s role as executive producer on Amazon’s new show isn’t his only upcoming TV show with the studio. He’s set to star inThe Terminal Listseason 2, reprising his role as James Reece after season 1’s 2022 release. However, it seems like the actor will be entirely behind-the-scenes forGod’s Country,which is shaping up to be a humorous yet important look at gentrification and the American real estate business. Given the subject matter, there’s likely going to be potent commentary about its central family and their business activities mixed with a compelling story.

Lowe and Mehta also have very different careersthat make their combined showrunner roles a possible look into what to expect from the show.
