The wait forChivalry 2has been a long one, with the first game releasing nearly nine years ago. However, aspiring knights will have the opportunity to play the new game towards the beginning of June. Luckily, those that want to give it a shot before then will be able to do so soon.
Over on Torn Banner’s website, the developer revealed thatChivalry 2’sopen betawill start in just over a week. Starting on May 27, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X players will be able to give the game a try ahead of launch. Kicking off at 11 am EDT, the open beta period will last until June 1. The beta will testChivalry 2’scross-play features, meaning that players on each platform can face off against each other.

The open beta includes a bevy of content for players to take part in. The blog post highlights a few different battles, sieges, and game modes that players will be able to take part in during the open beta, including The Siege of Rudhelm, The Slaughter of Coxwell, free-for-all, full customization options, Duel Servers, 64/40-person lobbies, and more.
Thoseinterested inChivalry 2will be able to pre-load the open beta on May 26, the day before it goes live. This is the last opportunity that players will have to get their hands on the game before it launches, whether they want to use that time to simply get a taste of what’s to come, or perhaps inform their buying decisions. While not quite a full week, the five-day period offers a decent opportunity for players to give the game a shot.
There’s been something of a resurgence for the Medieval brawler genre as of late, with games likeChivalry 2andMordhauhelping to revitalize the scene. It’s possible that more games akin to these ones start to pop up ifChivalry 2has staying power, which would certainly be a boon to those that are invested in the genre.
