January 2008

After months of attraction, and trying to put things off, Cane and Lily finally gave into their mutual attraction in January 2008, and shared their first kiss together. They also had their first official date, despite the opposition from Lily’s father, Neil, who disapproved of their coupling.

The Couple Sleep Together For The First Time

February 2008

Valentine’s Day 2008 was a big one for the couple, as they finally slept together for the first time. After Neil caught Cane leaving her room and realized they had been together, the latter swore he loved Lily and would never hurt her.

Cane Proposes For The First Time, & Lily Miscarries

April 2008

April 2008 was a milestone for the couple, as they discovered Lily was pregnant, and she decided to keep the baby, leading Cane to propose. She rejected his proposal, thinking it was for the wrong reasons, but they remained together, and tragedy struck when they discovered they’d lost the baby.

The Couple Break Up For The First Time

August 2008

After Chloe had attempted (and failed) to seduce Cane, she staged it to look like they’d had sex, then ruined Cane’s latest proposal to Lily (which she’d accepted) by revealing herself to be pregnant, and announcing that Cane could be the father. Lily broke up with Cane and urged him to marry Chloe to do right by the kid.

Cane & Lily Reconcile & Tie The Knot

May 2009

After turning down yet another Cane proposal, because he was fighting for full custody of Chloe’s kid Cordelia, Lily eventually accepted when Cane dropped the suit and proposed again. Lily Discovers Cane Isn’t Who He Says He Is

July 2009

The low point for the couple in their first run together came in July 2009, when Lily discovered that Cane was not Phillip Chancellor III, but an impostor sent to town to assume his identity. This caused Lily to split from her husband, and would not be the first time Cane lied to her over the course of their relationship.

Lily Is Diagnosed With Ovarian Cancer

August 2009

After their split, Lily was tragically diagnosed with ovarian cancer, and, despite the fact they were no longer together, Cane was there to support her. She had a hysterectomy, and eventually recovered, with the doctors harvesting two of her eggs, to keep the hope alive that Lily would become a mother.

The Couple Has Twin Babies Through Surrogacy

June 2010

to help the couple fulfill their dreams of parenthood, Mackenzie Brown agreed to fulfill the role of surrogate for Cane and Lily. Things went even better than the couple could have hoped for, and Mackenzie helped the couple welcome their beloved twins, Charlie and Mattie, into the world.

Cane’s Past Catches Up To Him

2011

2011 was a tough year for Lily and Cane, as Cane’s father Colin appeared on the scene, with some of the ghosts of the past following him. Cane was seemingly killed as a result of the violent confrontations, leaving Lily devastated. However, it turned out that Cane was still alive, and it was his twin brother Caleb who’d been killed.

The Couple Reunite & Get Married Again

2012

Back together again, Cane and Lily decided to invite friends and family to their destination wedding in Provence, France, where they tied the knot in a stunning Valentine’s Day marriage. Genevieve, Cane’s mother, was not officially attending, but discovered where the wedding was, and watched from afar.

Cane Is Unfaithful, But Lily Stays With Him

2018

After a tumultuous couple of years, during which they both had dalliances with other people, Cane wound up sleeping with colleague Juliet, and fathering a son, Sam. Juliet died during childbirth, leaving Cane to raise Sam alone, but Juliet stood by him, and Sam became part of their family.

The Couple Split & Cane Leaves Town

2019

2019 was a chaotic year for the couple, as Lily wound up behind bars following a car accident (in which she was driving) which left Hilary dead. This caused friction between the two, and when Lily was released, she and Cane split again, causing Cane to leave town.

Cane’s shockY&Rreturn as the enigmatic and mysterious Aristotle Dumas has thrust him and Lily back into one another’s lives again. Though the two are yet to reunite, it seems likeY&Ris moving toward a Cane and Lily reunion, but she may not want one, given that he’s been lying to her all this time.
