The Electric/Steel Roly-Poly Pokemon from the seventh generation,Togedemaru, has been available inPokemon GOsince the Test Your Mettle event in late 2022. Why are we writing about this Pokemon in 2024, you ask? Well, thanks to the ongoingUltra Unlock: Strength of Steelevent that ends on July 30, Togedemaru, as well asother Steel-type Pokemon, have increased spawns. And on top of that,Togedemaru’s shiny variant will be available inPokemon GOfor the first time.
How to Get Togedemaru in Pokemon GO
Until July 30, 8 pm local time, trainers will have an easier time finding Togedemaru. But that’s not the only way to catch this adorable monster during the event.
Togedemaru will also appear in 1-Star Raids alongside Pawniard,Skarmory, and Klink. Aside from that, the critter will act as a reward encounter for completing various Research Tasks… such as:
Togedemaru is weak to Fire, Fighting, and Ground; it’s resistant to Electric, Ice, Poison, Flying, Psychic, Bug, Rock, Dragon, Steel, and Fairy.
Can Togedemaru be Shiny in Pokemon GO?
Yes. Togedemaru can finally be shiny inPokemon GO. The shiny version twists the original gray coloring and turns it into a light shade of brown instead. You’ll know you’vefound a shiny Pokemon inPokemon GOif you see a special icon above its CP during the encounter.
Does Togedemaru Evolve in Pokemon GO?
Togedemaru has no other forms in thePokemonseries, includingPokemon GO. Besides the mobile game, the last time trainers could catch Togedemaru in a mainline title wasPokemon SwordandShieldfor the Nintendo Switch.
