Call of Duty’s storied library of live-action commercials continues into 2017 with “Reassemble!,” the latest promotion forCall of Duty: WW2. The two-and-a-half minute trailer features the song “Figure it Out” by Royal Blood and focuses on a group of friends reuniting for the forthcoming FPS release. It’s a fun way of showing how theCall of Dutycommunity comes together in anticipation of each year’s game, showcasing the diversity of players who enjoy the franchise.

Interestingly, theCall of Duty: WW2live-action trailer doesn’t feature any visual reference to the game itself this year. Previous videos have starred celebrities acting out real life versions of that year’sCall of Duty. For example,Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare’s live-action trailer"Screw It, Let’s Go To Space" featured Michael Phelps and Danny McBride running around on a spaceship shooting nondescript enemies.

“Reassemble!” takes place in semi-reality, featuring a relatively normal dude visiting each of his friends and inviting them back to playCall of Duty: WW2. The video plays out like a veritableOcean’s Eleven, with each of the squad mates coming from diverse situations and backgrounds.

Funnily, or perhaps sadly, despite there being eight members of the squad assembled in the video,Call of Dutytraditionally is limited to just6-person squads. The larger Ground War mode does feature 9v9, but has yet to be confirmed forCall of Duty: WW2. Perhaps some changes have been made, though that seems unlikely givenCall of Dutygames don’t often make such changes. Some fans have joked that it shows 8 players because the PlayStation’s party size is capped at 8, which may actually be true considering the Activision/Sony DLC exclusivity deal forCall of Duty: WW2.

Yet again Activision’s live-action video impresses. It’s fun to see a “normal friends” type of video rather than the typicalcelebrity-focused offerings. And the takeaway, that all sorts of friendly people play and enjoyCall of Duty, is surprisingly wholesome. Mileage may vary in reality.

Call of Duty: WW2releases on November 3 for the PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
