So far, Activision has mostly kept its cards close to its chest in regards to theCall of Duty: Modern Warfarecampaign. We’ve heard talk of ultra-violent and disturbing sequences in the campaign, like the alreadyinfamous child soldier mission, but other than, things have been mostly quiet. That is, until now.
As part of the latest PlayStation State of Play presentation, Activision released the first substantial story trailer forCall of Duty: Modern Warfare. The trailer spends a great deal of time with Captain Price, along with some other characters that have yet to be detailed. There is a younger soldier seen in multiple scenes with Price, who some have speculated is John “Soap” MacTavish, but that hasn’t been confirmed at the time of this writing.

We know thatSoap is in the newModern Warfare, but we don’t know how different he will look in the new game. Captain Price looks mostly the same as he did in the originalModern Warfaretrilogy, but with far more animation and detail.
TheCall of Duty: Modern Warfarestory trailer description offers even more details about what fans can expect from the plot. It will seeCaptain Pricejoin forces with both the CIA and the Urzikstani Liberation Force to retrieve stolen chemical weapons. As Price and his team attempt to retrieve the chemical weapons, they will be led on a globe-trotting journey that will take them to London, the Middle East, and “other global locations.” Their goal is to basically stop World War 3, which if the originalModern Warfaretrilogy is anything to go by, is something that they may actually fail at doing.
The trailer ended with a brief glimpse at theCall of Duty: Modern Warfareco-op Spec Ops mode. More on that will be revealed on October 5. In the meantime, we will have more answers about the campaign onceCall of Duty: Modern Warfare’s release date rolls around and fans can dive into the game’s story for themselves.
