Call of Duty: Black Ops 7is set to feature some of the most robust multiplayer options the franchise has ever seen, but they won’t be the standard moving forward for additional entries in the series.Black Ops 7got its full revealduring Gamescom 2025, and it seems to be aiming to be the most socialCoDexperience yet, including the campaign, Zombies mode, and virtually every other aspect of the game.
In an interview withScreenRant’sRob Keyes, Treyarch’s director of production, Yale Miller, andBlack Ops 7lead producer, Natalie Pohorski, detailedthe game’s extensive multiplayer offerings.Black Ops 7will have a four-player co-op campaign, an Endgame post-campaign 32-player mode, four-player Zombies, the core multiplayer modes, and more.
However, the game’s more extensive-than-ever multiplayer options won’t be the norm for the series' future. When asked if the co-op would recur in futureCoDgames, Miller said:“No, it’s just what’s right for the game.”

Miller went on to describeBlack Ops 7as"connected.“Expanding on that term in the context of the game’s setting, he said:“when we talk about 2035, everything’s kind of connected. Then we started arguing about, ‘Well, if you’re going to have [it be] connected, then you should probably be able to play everything together.'“Additionally, playing any mode will progress the game’s Battle Pass system.

A New Camo Reward System, Four Unique Protagonists, & More
Miller and Pohorski also spoke specifically aboutBlack Ops 7’s co-op campaign. The four playable characters are David “Section” Mason (whoreturns to the lead rolefollowing his appearance inBlack Ops 2), Mike Harper, Eric Samuels, and newBlack Opscharacter Lelani “50/50” Topuola. The campaign will feature11 missions, plus the Endgame bonus mode. The campaign can also be played solo, if desired.
There is also a campaign camo track, which lets players unlock mastery camos while playing the campaign. Speaking about earning progression points in every game mode, including the campaign and Zombies, and making the game feel even more"connected,“Miller said:“Progression!” “Well, if it’s really a connected game, then you should be earning progression everywhere.”
Being able to play every mode with friends and earn progression along with way is likely going to excite a lot of fans.Call of Duty: Black Ops 7willnot launch on Switch 2, but will be available on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC on November 14.
