Electronic Arts has admitted that a number of consumers who boughtBattlefield 3on the Xbox 360 are unable to play the game online because the included online pass does not work. This news comes on top of a problematic launch filled with reports of Origin not recognizing purchases, servers going down, and broken DLC.
“We are aware of the invalid code issue and we apologize for the inconvenience,” said EA. “Since certain retailers are affected by this issue, please check with the retailer where you purchasedBattlefield 3in order to receive a replacement code.”
As with thebroken Catwoman passes, this is a problem that hasno excuse, because it’s a problem Electronic Arts created from nothing. If you can’t get your shit together, stop putting these stupid codes in. They’re causing hindrances that don’t have to be there and they’re screwing with the loyal gamers who just dropped $60 for a game and should rightfully expect it to work out of the box.
Still, at least those affected by the problem have a stellar single-player campaign to enjoy. Oh wait …
