Thanks to the inclusion of two protagonists, you can explore the Dark Place and Bright Falls inAlan Wake 2. This also means there are two sets of collectibles to find, including taxidermy deer heads for Saga.
It’s easy to miss most of them, or just not notice them when they’re part of the room decorations. Collect them all, and you’ll get a reward. This guide will point you to where all the taxidermy deer heads are inAlan Wake 2.
All taxidermy deer heads in Bright Falls
There are five deer heads to find in Bright Falls. Use the map above to find your way.
1. Oh Deer Diner
You’ll encounter one of your first deer heads in the Oh Deer Diner. Head in, then walk to the back and take your first right. You’ll find the deer head in the storage room.
2. Elderwood Palace Lodge Hotel
The hotel is to the left of the Oh Deer Diner. Inside, you’ll find the deer head in a room labeled “Private” on the right side of the ground floor. This takes you toa Break Roomwith a door on the other end. Walk through the door and you’ll discover the bloody deer head on the wall.
3. Ranger’s Cabin
The cabin is located on the edge of the woods. On the second floor, the head is hung on the wall.
4. Valhalla Nursing Home
In the nursing home, there is another deer head in the second-floor Break Room.
5. Valhalla Nursing Home Manor
To get the last deer head, head to the manor after Rose opens up the door for you in theOld Gods chapter. There, first head to the receptionist room and collect the door knob.
Use this door to access the workshop door, which you may access by passing through the security room. Don’t forget tograb the hunting riflein there as well.
All taxidermy deer heads in Cauldron Lake
Cauldron Lake has three deer heads that are mostly simple to locate. You’ll find them at the locations marked on the map above.
1. Cauldron Lake Rental Cabins
To access the rental cabin, you’ll need bolt cutters to get past the gate. Once inside, head into the first cabin and out the back door. Crawl under a branch and enter the next cabin. Exit through the back door and enter the adjacent cabin where you’ll find a nursery rhyme to complete.
After completing the puzzle, exit the cabin and you’ll be confronted by a Taken wielding a weapon. Deal with the fiend, then enter the cabin it emerged from. Inside, a deer head is mounted on the wall.
2. Cabin
On the south side of Cauldron Lake, you’ll find a single cabin. As soon as you enter, turn left and you’ll see the deer head almost immediately.
3. Witchfinder’s Station
The last deer head in Cauldron Lake is located in the Witchfinder’s Station which is at the top left corner of the map. As soon as you enter the station, you’ll see the deer head above the fireplace.
All taxidermy deer heads in Watery
The last place to explore is Watery, where there are four deer heads to find.
1. Suomi Hall
This is an easy deer head to find. Enter Suomi Hall and head for the Break Room. Inside, the deer head is on the wall to your left.
2. Trailer
In the trailer which “belongs” to Saga, there is a deer head inside. It is mounted on the wall.
3. Kalevala Knights workshop
The deer head is located in the left corner of the workshop, mounted to a corrugated iron wall. There’s also a stash nearby if you have bolt cutters.
4. Ranger cabin
Your final deer head can be found in the Ranger’s cabin. You’ll need a screwdriver to enter but once you’re in, you’ll see the deer head if you enter the first room on your left and open the leftmost door in there.
Once you’ve petted all the deer, head back to the Elderwood Palace Lodge and return to the room that Alex Casey and Saga use as their base. You’ll hear a deer which you should follow to receive a nice supply of ammo as a reward for your efforts.
