Apple TV+’s golf comedyStickfeatures several real-life PGA pros and golf media pundits, particularly in its final two episodes.Stickstars Owen Wilson, Marc Maron, Timothy Olyphant, and Peter Dager as a rising golf prodigy named Santi Wheeler.
Stickseason 1 received aRotten Tomatoesscore of 82% and was recentlyrenewed by Apple TV+ for a second season, just hours after its season 1 finale was released. AlthoughStickspent much of its middle episodes off the golf course,it was able to get things back on track in its final three episodes.
Part of the reason whyStick’sfinal three episodes are the best of season 1 is because of all the real-life golf personnel who are featured throughout. While it may not have the enormousguest list ofHappy Gilmore 2, it does haveone advantage over the Adam Sandler sequel in the form of an all-time broadcasting legend.

Nantz and Immelman are a real-life broadcasting duo on CBS who add a great degree of legitimacy toStickwhen it needed it most. Although the Ready Safe is not a real PGA golf tournament, havingNantz there to guide viewers through Santi’s tumultuous journeyto the final round is a treat for all golf fans.
Nantz and Immelman add some crucial golf context to Santi’s performance on the course, aptly noting how unusual his decision to hit into the adjacent fairway was.Nantz and Immelman have fun with their respective roles, understanding that it’s for a TV show after all, but still maintain the prestigious pedigree of the PGA Tour.
Those who don’t watch much golf will likely recognizeNantz’s broadcasting work for CBS during the NFL seasonalongside former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo. He has also covered multiple Winter Olympic Games, as well as NCAA football and basketball, and has won two Sports Emmy Awards.

Whileit’s too bad that Nantz didn’t get to interview Santiafter his unlikely performance at the Ready Safe Invitational inStick, his presence undoubtedly elevated the final two episodes in season 1 of the show.
