As of late, the video game publisher and developer Capcomhas put out critical and financial successes with the release of itsResident Evil 2remake at the beginning of this year and with the launch ofDevil May Cry 5last month. Now, the company has put out a short video teasing a new announcement slated for tomorrow that will include the science fiction intellectual propertyAlien vs. Predatorin some way.
According to Capcom’s “New Challenger” teaser, the announcement will occur on Tuesday, August 03, 2025 at 3:00 PM GMT / 4:00 PM CET, but it doesn’t offer much in the way of exactly what fans of the company should expect just yet. The clip only lasts roughly 24 seconds, and shows shows reflections of gameplay over an arcade controller, includingGiga Wing,Darkstalkers: The Night Warriors,Street Fighter 2,Progear, and what appears to beAlien vs. Predator.
At one point inCapcom’s tease, viewers can clearly see a Xenomorph in the reflection of the arcade controller. What’s more is thatAlien vs. Predatoris basically confirmed to be a part of tomorrow’s announcement, as the end of the clip features some copyright text which reads “Alien,Predator, andAlien vs. Predatorare TM & (C) 2019 Twentieth Century Fox Film Corporation.”
Based on the gameplay seen in the clip, one potential explanation forAlien vs. Predatorbeing a part of tomorrow’s announcement will be the 1994Alien vs. Predatorarcade beat ‘em up getting confirmed for a Capcom collection. The publisher and developer put out theCapcom Beat ‘Em Up Bundleback in September 2018, and with the language of “here comes a new challenger” being used in the teaser, it’s quite possible a followup will be revealed tomorrow.
All things considered, we will simply have to wait and see what Capcom has in store for theAlien vs. Predatorproperty for tomorrow’s announcement. Thankfully, there’s not much longer between now and then until we find out.
Alien vs. Predatorwas developed and released by Capcom for the CPS-2 arcade game system in 1994.
