Still a dinosaur hunter, at least

Color me surprised, but a newTurokgame just got announced. Coming from indie developer Pillow Pig and published by Universal Studios Interactive Entertainment,Turok: Escape from Lost Valleyis more an adaptation ofthe comic series(which I just found out the classic N64 title was also based on) than the hardcore shooter 90s kids might remember. It also eschews first-person shooting for an isometric viewpoint and cooperative play.

While the trailer says “Available Now,” theSteam store pagelists a July 24, 2025 release date. So far, the only confirmed platform is PC, though it seems likely this will end up on consoles too. While I’m utterly shocked at how Turok looks, I can’t say I’m not a little intrigued. I’m just now learning the shooter from my youth wasn’t some original IP, so I wouldn’t mind trying this new game out. It honestly doesn’t look that bad.
