Assassin’s Creed Mirageis currently on sale at Best Buy for $19.99, which is $30 cheaper than either the digital PlayStation or Xbox store. PlayStation’s July sale is currently happening, and the game isn’t discounted there, so this is a good opportunity to get the PS5 version on sale. you’re able to get the game for the same price on Steam, but if you only have a console, or you prefer a physical game, then Best Buy’s sale is a good option for you.
Cal Kestis' sophomore outing,Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, was just as good as, if not better than, its predecessor. The game has a larger scale, which can be polarizing, but I appreciated it sinceJedi: Fallen Orderfelt a little short to me. AlthoughThe Rise of Skywalkerhas made me cautious about evaluating anyStar Warstrilogy before completion, lest the final installment is so bad it retroactively makes the previous installments feel worse, I would still say it’s worth givingStar Wars Jedi: Survivora try.
Dragon Age: The Veilguardwas a bit polarizing, receiving a mixture of fair and unfair criticism. That said, even if you were disappointed in the departure in form from the olderDragon Agegames,there’s a lot to like about the game’s combat system. Although I also would’ve preferred a narrative style that was more in line with earlier games in the series, I was still able to enjoy the game’s action, and it’s honestly the perfect kind of game to buy on sale.
Being completely honest, I wouldn’t payDragon Age: The Veilguard’s full $69.99 price tag on the PlayStation store, and I certainly wouldn’t pay for the $89.99 Deluxe Edition which charges an additional $20 for purely cosmetic items. However,getting the Deluxe Edition for $29.99 as part of Best Buy’s sale seems like a much more appropriate price for the game. If you’ve been curious to check it out, but didn’t want to pay full price, now is the perfect time to snag a copy ofDragon Age: The Veilguard.
LikeDragon Age,Star Wars Outlawsis a game I would strongly recommend buying on sale. Although myinitial impressions ofStar Wars Outlawswere very positive, my enthusiasm did start to wane a bit as my playthrough went on. That said,it’s still one of the only recent open-world Ubisoft games that I didn’t put down after just a few hours, and I still enjoyed it a lot more than a lot of recentStar Warsmedia. If you enjoy lower-stakesStar Warsstories that focus on the galaxy’s seedy underbelly, you’d probably enjoy this game.
Star Wars Outlawsis on sale at Best Buy for $29.99, which is $40 cheaper than on PlayStation or Xbox’s digital marketplaces. Although you can also get the game’s Gold Edition for $40 off at Best Buy, I would stick to buying the base game. Although the Gold Edition comes with all the DLC, you aren’t getting a steeper discount than on the base game, and you can always decide to get the DLC later if you like it without having to pay the same price upfront.

TheGameSir Super Nova is a wireless controller that works with a variety of different platforms. One thing that caught my attention is that it is compatible with the Switch 2. Since I don’t really feel like spending between $80 and $95 on another Switch 2 controller, grabbing a GameSir for only $29.99 seems like a great deal. I also appreciate controllers that work on multiple platforms, since I can get a lot more use out of them.
I will admit, having grown up with N64 controllers, I’m not all that picky about a controller so long as it’s functional. That said, the reviews on the GameSir Super Nova fromBest Buy’s website do seem to agree with me that it’s a viable alternative, especially at its price point.If you want a couple extra controllers to use forMario Kart World, or really any multiplayer game on any console, I would recommend checking this one out.
I’ve been dealing with some serious stick drift on my original Switch Joy-Cons, but seeing as the official ones still cost $80 eight years later, I’ve been looking for a good alternative. The Hori Split Pad Compact - while not as good as the company’s Pro version -is a good alternative to a traditional Joy-Con. The controllers are a bit wider, which makes them a bit less cramped. If you get it with the Attachment Set, you can use it as a wired controller if you want to play in console mode and your controllers are dead.
The Hori Split Pad Compact Attachment Set is typically $79.99, the same as buying the official Joy-Cons for the original Switch. However,the set is currently on sale at Best Buy for only $37.99, making it a much better deal. If you need to replace your old Switch controllers, and don’t want to pay full price, this is a good alternative.

I’ve seen a lot of people warn against buying a “gaming” chair, claiming that they are typically just over-stylized office chairs that tend to be less comfortable. Although I can’t speak for every model of gaming chair, theInsignia Essential PC Gaming Chair is just as comfortable as a traditional office chair, and it offers a good amount of back support. If you spend a lot of time gaming, or writing, or writing about gaming, then you’ll want a nice chair and I do think this one is a good option.
Typically, this chair costs $179.99, butit is currently only $99.99, or nearly 50% off. If you’re unsure whether this chair is for you, some Best Buys do have certain chairs available to test in store, though there is no guarantee your local store will have this exact model. However, if you’re already there picking up something else that’s part of the current sale, I’d say it’s at least worth seeing if you can test one of these out, and if it’s right for you.
God of War Ragnarök
Going intoGod of War Ragnarök, I was hesitant if it could live up to the high expectations I had for it following the series' total reinvention with 2018’sGod of War. Not only didGod of War Ragnaröklive up to my expectations, it managed to surpass them and become my favorite of the two games. The game’s combat is difficult enough that it doesn’t feel like a mindless hack-and-slash game, but it alsoempowers you to pull off some seriously impressive combosand feel like the powerful god you’re playing as.

This is also cheaper than Steam, which is currently selling the game for $47.99. If you’re a long-time fan of the series, it may also be nice to get a physical copy of the game to add to your collection.

Both the presentation and the gameplay still hold up, and if you’re looking for a great 3D Action Platformer to hold you over untilDonkey Kong Bananzadrops, this is a good option.
Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apartis $40 cheaper at Best Buy, selling for $29.99, whereas it is $69.99 on the PlayStation store. It is also on sale on Steam for the same price right now, where it usually costs $59.99. If you missed this game when it first came out and then never went back, I would strongly recommend checking out what all the fuss was about.
